Exciting Use of Icelandic Wool

Writer's picture: Firefly Hollow FarmFirefly Hollow Farm

At Firefly Hollow Farm great care is taken to nourish the sheep in order to produce the finest fleeces possible. This includes balancing fresh grass and water with the necessary minerals and organic kelp. Great pains are taken to keep the wool free of debris and burrs until it is time to shear in October. This can be a challenge on sheep who average a 7-12” staple length, but the results are worth it for the delighted response from hand spinners and vegetarian fleece felters.
